23rd November 2005 - All Secured for Winter Months

Had a relaxing long weekend tidying up the yacht as we will not be down again until February 2006.

 

Took delivery of the Katdyn Watermaker - and it looks to be simple to install and operate.  Have left the job to our local helper Erich to complete.

 

We've decided to locate the unit in the bilge space close to the galley and all filters / switches etc in galley cupboard space adjacent to the sinks - other 461 owneres might like to consider this option?

 

The canvas is now off and with local sailmaker for cleaning / repair - we'll put it back next Feb.  We also removed all deck mounted gear to avoid temptation - and securely locked all hatches with padlocks etc.

 

Have set up a 220v de-humidifyer on a timer and Erich visiting weekly to check lines etc.  Hopefully - should be snug until we visit again in the new year.
