Savarna sailing blog

This blog records the travels of Savarna, a Hanse 531 yacht, following our taking delivery in June 2005 from the Hanse yard in Greifswald, on the Baltic. Having currently sailed as far as Turkey over the past four summers we are planning to head up to Istanbul, the Black Sea and then cruise the Cyclades Group during 2009, then complete the East Med Rally in April 2010 which will take us to Israel and Egypt followed by the ARC at the end of 2010 to get us to the Carribean then to New Zealand via the Panama and the Pacific.

Great to hear from you great photos. You all look relaxed even though its sounds like some heavy duty sailing. What an experience. Can't wait to hear all the details over a glass of wine or two in the very near future.

Hi Keith,

Only just found your blog and nice to read things have gone so well since we first emailed about the Hanses - and now your are on your way. Congratulations from both Sue and I to both you and Pam.

We are not sure of our exact holiday end date - its possibly third week of August - but I'm certain we will still be around the Belearics at that time so if you are heading this way in that time span - it would be good to catch up.

Just before I close - I am wondering how small this world is.
I see from other blog comments you have a pal named Stewart Germann. He's not a lawyer by chance and involved in the franchise industry? I met up with a Kiwi of same name around 15 years back when he first attended an Oz Franchise Conference on the Gold Coast. Would be interested to know if it's the same bloke.

Regards
JOHN
