Up from Cornwall to come and see how much rain we actually have up here in Scotland!  Great to catch up and see everyone.  Those boys are growing so fast.  After camping in the lounge all weekend we still managed to get out on the water together.  Everyone had a chance to helm and get chilly but most importantly we had a good days sailing with all the kids. Lynsey even managed to enjoy herself!

A full cockpit!

Could not leave Paul out!

Mark and Emma visit from Brighton

Mark and Emma have finally made it up from Shoreham.  We managed to select ourselves a perfect day with a steady breeze and excellent sailing.  Dropped the kids off at school and then got out for a blast.  Upwards of six knots all day!  There really is no better place to sail in conditions like we had today.  Certainly could do with some sunshine but then again the Clyde would be packed.  Mark enjoying himself on the helm and reminding himself of what he is missing.

Emma enjoying the breeze.  You cannot beat this.

Away for the weekend

Well the weather has been less than predicatable over the last few weeks!  Mind you, we still enjoyed a fantastic sail down to Port Bannatyne and managed to find ourselves a berth in the new family owned marina.  What a lovely spot.  Superb protection from most directions and stunning views of the Cowal Peninsula.  It is also really easy to catch local bus transport down to Rothsay where you have everything that you may need.

The facilities are improving daily in the marina and they should have toilet and shower facilities in the next few weeks.  There will also be water available on the berths which will make life a lot easier.  Either way it is a beautiful location and gives you another option prior to passing through the Kyles of Bute.

Sailing at last

Finally we have found the time to go sailing on Olivia!  The plan is to slip from our buoy in Clyder and take ourselves down the Clyde to the Burnt Islands.  Hopefully the weather will improve and we can continue down to the Island of Arun.  Last year we found ourselves a really stunning anchorage in the Kyles of Bute. so me may just get lucky.
