Mar. 20, 2006 - Marcita Looking Good

Marcita has been in the tent getting a 'makeover' and she is ready to emerge to make room for Myfanwy.

Shipwright Jim Maynard has spent a month working on the interior woodwoork giving her a new galley, navigation station, engine cover and cabin sole. Add to that new wiring, new pipework all round and new cushions she will make a great 'home from home'.

Externally not an inch has gone untouched. Decks and all the brightwork have been stripped back. The antifoul built up over years was blasted off. This gave us a chance to see the condition of her hull. The old girl was totally sound. So she's been primed and repainted and now looks very 'slippery'. We are hoping that with a bit of rig tuning she may perform well in this year's BCYC Regatta in June
