This was an interesting one and somewhat mis-named. Force seven North Easterlies were causing some very lumpy seas out past Landguard so we decided that it was not worth the comfort and risk to battle up and round to the Ramsholt Arms for supper. Instead we had some very interesting gear testing in home waters.
It was great to have four fully manned yachts saling in company for the first time this season. It's been a struggle and we uncovered a few things left to do but we were rewarded with and empty river and some exhilarating sailing.
We would have had more photographs but as was explained at recent talk I attended by a survivor of the Fastnet 78 (or was it 79?) we were often a bit too busy and it was a bit too wet to get the cameras out.
Above you can see Jonjo and Kevin on Night Wind. Arriving off Pin Mill they were doing about 5.5 knots under staysail.
Bottom shows Myfanwy and Marcita moored off Pin Mill as the sun comes up on the Saturday morning.
