The Third Coast

• Aug. 14, 2007 - Trying to Reason with ANOTHER "H" Season

 

This is the first of two systems that are slated to head this way. We are keeping a close eye on it. Attendant winds are slated up to 55mph sustained, lots of rain. Steering currents bring it in pretty darn close. I will be lashing the sails down, or maybe removing them all together, and doubling up on our dock lines for this one. And of course, I'll be staying aboard.

 

The next system is more ominous, but there is some time to wait and see, and of course anything could happen.

 

But, call me paranoid. I'm already thinking about alternatives, like up in the Port of Brownsville or maybe way up the Arroyo Colorado.

 

I hate hurricane season.

 

There. I said it. The "H" word......
