I decided to post this recipe for what I believe is the perfect recipe for grilled shrimp.
Like Bubba on Forrest Gump, I have sampled just about every possible combination and variation of these crustaceans, and by accident, one evening when tossing together some spices aboard the boat I came up with the following:
Olivias Perfect Grilled Shrimp
-
1 LB 26-30 count shrimp, peeled, with tail on
-
2 TBSPN Extra Virgin Olive Oil
-
1 TBSPN Curry Powder
-
1TBSPN Minced Garlic
-
1TBSPN Minced Ginger
-
1 TSPN Minced (fresh) Mint
-
1 TSPN Minced (fresh) Basil
8 Bamboo skewers, soaked in water for at least an hour.....
-Head and peel the shrimp, but leave tail on
-In a big ziploc combine shrimp and prepared ingredients
-Marinate for at least an hour
-Double skewer the critter, 6 on each and grill for no more than 2 minutes per side on your stern rail barbeque (or whatever grilling device you might have)
We like to eat 'em with fried rice, grilled mushrooms, chopped cilantro, and a big, grilled flour tortilla.....
Very simple.....very tasty.
Oh yeah, and an ice cold beer or two. Maybe three.
Enjoy ya'll! |
