Apr. 9, 2006 - The Wonders of Technology

How cool is modern technology!?!? (in the most hypocritical fashion, of course... I like certain aspects of certain technologies and it has made a pretty penny with the right investments...but those are other blogs...)

We can sit here at anchor ONE HALF MILE from shore and be online.  We're bobbing like a cork with sustained 30mph winds (gusts in the low 40's), spitting rain and salt spray galore...yet that signal perserveres like a damned postman - neither wind, nor rain, nor dead of night.

I am simply amazed.  Our little HP laptop (yes, HP's HP) is able to snag that persistent beam of internet from the shore.  And they say you can only be 100' from a hotspot.
