Vevela got sick. A bit of an infection. She wasn't herself, actually quite miserable. Something had to be done.
We walked into St. Mary's to the Submarine Museum where we knew that had a phone book. Asked the girl at the ticket booth for said yellow pages, in the process explaining our problem. She said her dog was sick too; in fact, it was having surgery this week. Her vet is great, do we want her nmber? Sure.
They got us in the next morning. Most vets seem to hate transients as we aren't in for the long haul financially with them...this one was amazing. But I'm getting ahead of myself.
We loaded Vevela into a carrier then into the dinghy. Motored to land, waited for the cab. Motored there and arrive about 45 minutes early. Settled in for a long wait...we're used to it. They got us in 5 minutes later.
Compassionate, gentle, friendly...we love this lady. She gave us what we needed and at a lower price than we've ever paid for a vet before.
Vevela handled the ordeal very well considering she is our chicken-not-so-little. She's on the mend. We have incurred no scratches as of this writing.
