Rain swept through last night and cooled things off very nicely. Most of our work was done and an outing seemed most appropriate. We gathered the fishing gear in the dink and took off up the St. Mary's heading west to Alligator creek, turned south down the creek and went along the bluffs. Yes, there are beautiful, hundred foot tall rock bluffs making a border along GA/FL.
Caught nothing but we had an otter swimming around the dinghy. Pulled in the lure and watched him fish instead. We don't see many otter in south Florida so they have been a novelty in our travels north. In Georiga we've seen a dozen or so now but this one put on the best show by far. When he left, we fired up the outboard as thunder was nearing and the sun was already set so insects would be out en masse soon. Upon nearing HP we were greeted by three dolphin hunting with the changing tide.
A nice reward for a Sunday evening outing. |
