I love adventure.
The other evening we're sitting onboard reading and enjoying a nice cool breeze blowing throughout the anchorage. We hear a call requesting help with anchoring... because of technicalities, the owner had to singlehand...the wind had whipped up and current was very strong...and with a 50' boat he was going to have his hands full.
So...Brian hops in the dinghy and motors out to meet the powerboat.
The powercruiser maintained at least 5-10 mph while B came alongside, took a line from the boat, tied off...and proceeded to board from moving dinghy to moving powercruiser. James Bond couldn't have done it any smoother. Barefoot at that.
As I am walking forward to meet the owner, I notice 25-30 people on shore and on the pier watching the event unfold. An audience...suddenly I am very glad I didin't misstep and fall in the drink. Murphy missed his chance.
We get the boat anchored and all set with an invitation for evening drinks which led to an invitation to breakfast the next morning.
Like the Grateful Dead sing in "Scarlet Begonias"...
