The Adventures of S/V Holding Pattern

Jul. 21, 2006 - Snapshot 7/21/06

Date: July 21, 2006.

Temp: 91outside, 87 inside.

Wind: I wish.  Calm.

Cats: Vevela is asleep under the table in the beeze.

Takara is asleep on the deck.

Books we're reading:

H: The Sisters by Cynthia Victor, a UK fiction, the last large print in the shop.

B: 1776 by David McCollough and Roadwork by Stephen King

Today's activities: Brian worked until noon.  Heather cleaned the cockpit and cabin.

B not doing any paid work this afternoon as it is Friday.  Going to catch up on

changing zincs, generator wrestling, pleading to the diesel gods, etc.

Friends on Winterhawk out of town and we're watching their dinghy (not as

personal as it sounds.)  Had to retrieve it from the dinghy dock.

Heather is sewing the dodger.  Damage we found after the hailstorm.

Port spreader light on the mainmast is missing.  Damage from TS Alberto?

Aliens?  I woke up this morning, lying in bed looking out the hatch and

           noticed it was gone.

As always Heather is working on her new quilt.

Breakfast: B made french toast as we have an overbaundance of eggs.

Lunch: Split a can of Campbell's Tomato Bisque soup.  Mm-mmm Good.

     B had a PB&J & chips.

Dinner: Baby back ribs on the grill (thanks to Winterhawk clearing their freezer

before going out of town.) and fresh lima beans from the farmer's market.

Dinner rolls and COLD water & soda as we got ice yesterday.

(In retrospect we're eating like king's today...this is a rare treat!)

Weekend plans:  Nap in the afternoon.  Do some boat work.  That's as specific

as I'm willing to get lest I be held to my word.

Music on the iPod while writing:  (shuffle play)

     March of the Pigs, NIN

Substitute (cover of The Who), The Ramones

     St. Jimmy, Green Day

     Mrs. Robinson, Simon & Garfunkel

     Best of You, Foo Fighters

Sittin' Here in Limbo, Willie Nelson
