24 hours after the first writting on Alberto. Barometric pressure is finally on the rise. Heather (my lawfully wedded barometer) is feeling better, head clearing, etc. Poor girl, she gets so miserable whenever low's are around. And a Tropical Storm sure counts as a low. And as for me, the weather can clear up anytime as far as I am concerned.
Overnight 12th into early 13th was mainly rain. Not much wind until morning 13th then increasing throughout the day. Sustained 25-35 mph winds for several hours with much higher gusts in squalls and storms...and a few just out of the blue - nothing over 55mph though so no big deal. NOAA canceled the Tropical Storm warning as of 8pm, 13th...and we've had some of our heaviest winds since.
Of course right now wind and current are opposing each other so the anchor rode is rubbing on the bobstay making the noise all the more dramatic...just give us a lot of motion, Current is very strong and is holding us at an odd angle to the current.
No damage that we know of, thankfully. Just checked and sustained wind is now only averaging 15-25 so I think I will check the anchors one more time and get some shut-eye. |
