Sirenia

• Apr. 7, 2007 - Rub, Rub, Rub

We seem to have spent the last few weeks rubbing down Sirenia's hull.

We are painting her topsides which were some what scratched and knocked about.

The gel-coat was wearing thin in places.

We are using Blakes Polygloss.

We have use of the vehicle work shop at the company I work for.

After 2 weeks filling and rubbing down we put the 1st undercoat on on Thursday evening using a small foam roller.

We tried to lay it of with a brush but that seemed to make thing worse.

It looked very patchy.

A 2nd coat yesterday improved it a lot.

But the finish has the texture of orange peel,

This morning we rubber down a small area and tried some top coat.

This seemed to work o.k. so, as we had another tin of the under coat, we put a 3rd coat on.

Tomorrow we have to rub it all smooth and then go for the 1st top coat.
